Mission
EMPACT-SPC’s agency mission is to provide hope, strength and solutions for life. The mission of the Trauma Healing Services (THS) Department is to provide compassionate, quality services free of charge to survivors of sexual abuse and their loved ones. THS Prevention & Outreach Services seeks to educate the community about sexual and domestic violence with the goal of reducing the incidence of this violence in the US.
Agency Overview
EMPACT-SPC, a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has a 20-year history of providing family-centered services to youth in order to build resiliency. Our goal is to build strong families and communities by providing innovative counseling, crisis, prevention and training services.
Our sexual violence prevention programs are housed in the Trauma Healing Services (THS) Department. THS provides vital crisis intervention and support services free of charge 24/7 to victims of sexual /domestic violence and their loved ones, in addition to community outreach, training and prevention programs.
Our programs strive to address sexual and domestic violence from two different aspects:
1) Clinical services to assist survivors in achieving a sense of healing and peace;
2) Outreach and prevention services focused on stopping sexual assault from initially occurring.
Description of Programs/Services
EMPACT-SPC’s Trauma Healing Services Department offers the following services:
-
Sexual Violence Youth Bystander Intervention Program: Focuses on giving youth and youth-serving adults the knowledge, empathy and skills to intervene in situations they witness with their peers that may escalate into sexual violence, including those where people are demonstrating disrespect for gender, sexual orientation, gender identity expression, or personal or sexual boundaries. We also train adults who serve youth to identify and interrupt sexual harassment, bullying and sexual teasing.
-
Native American Communities Sexual Violence Prevention Program: Provides culturally competent sexual violence prevention programming to Native American communities throughout Arizona. Program staff meet with leaders from each community requesting a presentation and adapt the workshops to meet their community’s specific needs.
